We constantly hear ‘create engaging content’ for your website and social media, but what is this and how do we do it?

Engaging means charming and attractive and can mean different things to different people, so where do we start? Here are 5 ideas which will spark your creativity and help you create amazing content for your website or blog or social media.

1. Reviews
You may have a reviews section on your website that customers navigate to now and again, but sharing stories about how a customer has complemented you or business, something they have said in an email or other feedback received is a great honest way of creating content and informing your customers.

2. Goals, Awards, Achievements & Charity Events
People love to know the faces behind your business, great ways to show this is are by sharing personal goals, achievements and awards that are linked to your business. After all how do our customers know what we are working towards if we don’t tell them?

3. Follow a Different Format
If you always share content about your products and services, try something new and gauge the feedback and reaction. This could be the way you write, what you write about and how you dish it up! If you write in large paragraphs, try short paragraphs with short sub headings and add more images.

4. Involve Your audience
Involve your audience by setting a challenge, competition, or asking a direct question. Don’t switch your audience off by using too much technical jargon (and if you need to, then explain your industry jargon). Create compelling titles, this is your first hook to draw them in and summarise your content in the first paragraph so they know this is worth reading further. People crave information that is hot, popular, insightful and cutting edge. Here you can share things that are new in your industry, something they can get a taste for, something that shows you are knowledgeable and skilful. They will want a piece of it and are happy to share and advocate.
